Your brand new instance of Microsoft Dynamics 365 is going to contain sample data. This allows you to experiment with functionality, play around, and learn the product, without all of your actual data being used. At some point, you will want to remove this sample data, but may eventually need to add it back in, such as for training purposes. This video will detail how to remove sample data from Microsoft Dynamics 365, as well as how to add it. First, ensure that you have System Administrator privileges; if you don't know whether or not you do, check by clicking Settings in the upper right corner of the screen, then selecting Options from the dropdown list. Scroll down in the window that appears, and click View your user information. Along the top of the screen, click the down arrow to the right of your name, then choose Security Roles. If System Administrator is not already shown, click Manage Roles, find it in the list and check the box to select it, and click OK. Click Save. Please note, depending on your current roles, you may not have appropriate privileges to change your role; if this is the case, contact your system administrator. Close the window, and click OK in the window that remains open. Now, let's remove sample data. Click the down arrow to the right of the current app name along the top of the screen, then choose the Settings tile and click Data Management within the System column. On the page that appears, click Sample Data, then click Remove Sample Data in the window that appears, then click Close. If, at any point, you want to reinstall the sample data, the same steps apply. Simply click Sample Data, then click Install Sample Data. Close the window when finished. That's it! Thanks for watching this video by xRM!
