Auto-Create Contact or Lead Records
An error occurred while loading the video. Please try again.
In Microsoft Dynamics CRM, if you track an e-mail message or meeting request from someone who does not already have a record in your organization, you can automatically generate a Contact or Lead record for them based on their e-mail address.
This functionality saves Users the time it takes to manually create such records. However, enabling this setting could lead to the automatic creation of unwanted Contacts and Leads. It really comes down to preference and how you use Dynamics CRM. This feature could be ideal for sales reps who deal with numerous e-mails daily inquiring about their company’s services.
To configure this setting, click File > Options. This opens the Set Personal Options dialog. Select the E-mail tab and you’ll see that you can configure tracking settings and the auto-create option.
To turn on the function, check the Create box. In the corresponding dropdown, select either “Contacts” or “Leads”. To turn this function off, you simply uncheck the Create box.
To finalize the change, click the OK button.
