Bulk Edit Records

Editing a single record in Microsoft Dynamics CRM is simple enough. You open the record you have permission to edit and make the necessary change or changes. But did you know you could bulk edit records without having to export them to Excel, make edits, and then reimport them?
It’s really straightforward actually, but the edits made to the records must be uniform. It’s also important to know that you cannot use this technique for reassigning records.
To bulk edit, simply navigate to a list of records that you want to make the same change or changes to. This can be from an open View or Advanced Find results. Select all of the records and then click Edit in the ribbon.
An Edit Multiple Records window opens that resembles the default form of the entity you are working with. All of the fields are blank by default. Make the appropriate edits and then click the Save button.
There are numerous scenarios where this method of editing multiple records is most beneficial. The example we use in this lesson is populating a custom field for records that meet a specific set of criteria. In this example, we want to indicate that any Lead records housed in either Washington, Oregon, or California, are part of the West region.
