Converting an Activity to an Opportunity
Hi, and welcome to the Success Portal by xRM.com.
In CRM Online, Activities such as Faxes, Phone Calls, E-mails, Letters, and Appointments can be converted into Opportunity records.
In this tutorial, we will convert an E-mail Activity to an Opportunity.
This task requires privileges found in all default Security Roles.
We begin by navigating to Workplace > My Work > Activities.
Now, let’s open the E-mail called “Potential Opportunity”. This is a sample E-mail Activity I created for this tutorial.
The E-mail form opens. The message tells us that this Contact is interested in purchasing 10 cases of our Blue Pens product, and that xRM Salesman wants us to touch base with the customer.
So we want to covert this Activity record into an Opportunity. To do this, click To Opportunity in the Convert Activity section of the ribbon.
The Convert E-mail to Opportunity dialog opens. Let’s populate the Customer field with the Contact that was included in the E-mail, which was “Daniel Rose (sample)”.
The Currency field is already populated with “US Dollar”, so we’ll leave it as is.
We’ll make sure that the Open the new opportunity and Close the e-mail form options are checked.
Now, click the OK button.
The dialog closes, the E-mail form closes, and a new Opportunity record is generated.
That is how you convert an Activity into an Opportunity.
Thanks for watching.
