Translate Product Names and Properties
An error occurred while loading the video. Please try again.
Hi, and welcome to the Success Portal by XRM. This video will explain how to translate product names and properties into multiple languages in Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
For products sold in different regions, it's important to translate certain product details into multiple languages to increase ease of access for sales personnel. To do so, you must have one of the following roles, or equivalent permissions. For information on viewing your permissions, please view the one-minute View Your User Profile video.
The first step in translating fields in Microsoft Dynamics CRM is exporting data to send to your chosen translation agency.
Navigate to Settings, Data Management, then choose Export Field Translations. Click OK, and the default localizable product fields will be exported as a .zip file. Save this file, unzip, and send the CrmFieldTranslations.xml file within to your translation agency. The file can be opened in Microsoft Excel.
Upon receiving the translated text from the agency, you'll need to import it. Before importing the translations, make sure that you have provisioned the language packs for all languages for which you are importing text, otherwise your translations will be discarded. For information on language packs, please view the Install and Upgrade Language Packs video.
When you're ready to import, navigate to Settings, then Data Management, and click Import Field Translations. Click Import Field Translations again, and the Import Translated Text window will open. Click Browse, and choose the file received from the translation agency. Click Import to start the import process. When the text has been successfully imported, users will see the data in their preferred language.
Thank you for using the success portal by XRM.
